How does it work?
While wearing the rigid contact lenses overnight, they gently mold the front surface of the eye, correcting your vision while you sleep. The adjustments may last up to 48 hours depending on the patient’s prescription.
Who can wear them?
Ortho-K is meant for both adults and children and can be prescribed for nearsighted, farsighted, and astigmatic patients. This is a great alternative to wearing contacts and glasses full time.
Is it safe for kids?
Absolutely! If your child’s vision is progressing every year, Ortho-K, in some cases it can slow down the effects of myopia dramatically. Since lasik is not available for children, Ortho-K is a great alternative.
How long will it take?
The full effect of the Ortho-K lenses can be seen within a week of wearing them.
Is it permanent?
No! The reshaping of your cornea is not permanent and it will return to it’s prior state once you stop wearing the lenses.
