Excellence in Eye Care

Dr. Yee Choi is a licensed therapeutic optometrist certified in the evaluation and treatment of glaucoma. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Indiana University School of Optometry, where she also completed extensive clinical training at Indiana University eye clinics and VA clinics in New York and Florida.

Dr. Choi has practiced in Las Vegas and Philadelphia before bringing her expertise to the Dallas metro area. She is especially passionate about patient education, with a focus on dry eye management and the prevention of ocular disease in both children and adults.

Dr. Choi has volunteered at numerous community health fairs and free clinics, providing care and health education to underserved populations across the Dallas–Fort Worth area and surrounding communities.

Why I chose optometry

What do you love most about optometry?

“I became an optometrist because I wanted to help people and have always found the eyes fascinating. What I love most about my job is being able to quickly improve someone’s vision and make a real difference in their daily life. In many cases, fixing vision is a simple solution with an immediate impact. I also value being able to detect serious conditions, like retinal holes or tears, early on.”

What do you wish people knew about optometry?

“I wish more people understood how important eye health is beyond just seeing clearly. Vision plays a major role in how we process and understand the world around us. Having good eye health directly supports overall comprehension and how effectively we interpret what we see.”

Outside of her practice, Dr. Choi enjoys traveling and exploring new cultures with her husband, Anthony. She recently took trips to Hong Kong and China and has upcoming plans to visit New Zealand and Australia. She also has a creative side and enjoys sewing in her free time. Drawn to optometry by her fascination with the complexity of the eye and a desire to help others, she brings curiosity and care into both her professional and personal life.
