Dr. Anisha Jacob

Dr. Anisha Jacob is a licensed therapeutic optometrist who is board certified to evaluate glaucoma. She graduated with honors from the University of Illinois Chicago and earned her doctorate from the Illinois College of Optometry.

She founded Village Vision Center with one goal in mind: exceptional care that feels like home. And yes, she even helped design the building her patients walk into, because excellence isn’t accidental, it’s intentional.

Education

Dr. Jacob graduated with honors from the University of Illinois Chicago and earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry. She also completed clinical training with honors at respected institutions, including the University of Chicago Eye Center.

Specializations

Dr. Jacob is board-certified in glaucoma management and specializes in the harder cases — advanced dry eye therapy, orthokeratology, scleral lenses, and myopia control.  She provides comprehensive medical eye care, specialty contact lens fittings, and sees children who have visual learning differences.

Professional Accolades

Dr. Jacob has received multiple honors throughout her education and clinical training and is an active member of the American Optometric Association and the Texas Optometric Association.

Community Involvement

Dr. Jacob has participated in nine overseas mission trips, providing eye care to underserved communities in countries such as Honduras, Guatemala, Peru, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic.

Why I chose optometry

What inspired you to become an eye doctor?

“My mentor, Dr. Mark Colip, was the first person to show me that optometry could be so much more than an exam room. He opened my eyes to a world where eye care could reach people who had never had access to it. I’ve since had the privilege of going on nine overseas mission trips, and every single one reminded me of why I chose this path.”

What do you wish people knew about optometry?

“There’s a lot of preventative medications and vitamins and treatments that were not available 20 years ago. Come in and get checked!”

Originally from Chicago, Dr. Jacob now lives in the Dallas area with her husband, Rony and their son, Jagger. Coworkers describe her as organized, thoughtful, and caring—qualities that carry into her personal life as well. She ran the Chicago Marathon in 2014, enjoys mission trips in her free time, and loves dining at local favorites like Uchi, Texas Roadhouse, and Don Camillo.
